What is Yoga?

Yoga is many things. I can be breath control, simple meditation, and asana (body postures) that are practiced for health and relaxation. Yoga is a way to exercise the body, our breath, and our minds all at the same time. It can also be a moving meditation. Yoga focuses on bringing or uniting together the mind, body, and spirit.

Yoga is the Sanskrit root word “yuj” meaning to join or to yolk, to unite.

Yoga is an ancient practice that helps us to develop flexibility and strength in our bodies and happiness and peace in our minds.
